Shenyang is the capital city of Liaoning Province and is one of the largest cities of China. Shenyang is also the center of economy, culture, transportation and business activities in the northeastern part of China. Shenyang city has also been enlisted as one of the top ten most competitive cities of China. Liaoning Communication University ( LNCU ) is approved by Liaoning Provincial Ministry of Education and Ministry of Education of People’s Republic of China as well. LNCU has north and south two campuses, covers an area of approximately 1,600 acres, and currently 10,024 students are enrolled in LNCU. LNCU is one of the eight communication universities in China. LNCU intends to cultivate sustainable talents for current and upcoming media industry. The university offers various advanced facilities such as sports stadium, library, the art gallery and students activity center. The university has 105 laboratories in relevance of different majors and 67 off-campus internship platforms. LNCU offers 19 undergraduate specialties, some of which are being taught in English language, such as Animation Design, Network & Multi-media Applications, Visual Communication Design, Multi-media Marketing & Management, Fashion Design, International Trade and Business Administration. In addition, LNCU also has around 564 Chinese faculty and staff with outstanding academic achievements and extraordinary teaching skills in their relevant fields. How to Apply

Application Procedures

(1) Fill in the Admission Application Form for Foreigners Wishing to Study in of Liaoning Communication University. (2) Transfer RMB700Yuan (110USD$) application fee（non-refundable) to university bank account. (3) After the application has been verified, the Admission Notice Letter and JW202 Form for visa will be sent to qualified applicants or their sponsors. (4) A visa can be obtained from the Chinese Embassy or consulate in the applicant’s country with the Admission Notice Letter and JW202 Form. (5) Students should come to LNCU one week before the date showed on Admission Notice Letter. Those who are unable to come on time without any compelling reasons will lose the seat for study at LNCU..

Qualifications

Register and resident permit

1. International students must apply to the China’s Embassy for Visa X if the duration of study is more than 6 months, and Visa F if the duration is less than 6 months at the Chinese Embassy in their home country with the required documents.

2. Issued by Chinese law, International students should enter China within the period specified on their visas. Upon arriving in school, within 3 days of registration, international students must go to the Shenyang Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau for Foreigners with their passports and two passport size photos to take a physical examination. A night before the scheduled Physical Examination, students must not eat and drink after 10:00pm until the examination finishes. If the student is found to have a disease, he or she must leave China immediately by Chinese Law.

3. International students with an X visa must apply for a Residence Permit at the Shenyang Entry-Exit Inspection Bureau for Foreigners within 30 days after arrival in Shenyang. Students are responsible for keeping the information on their Residence Permit current during their study period. Students should go to the Shenyang Entry and Exit Administration Bureau to record any change of information on their Residence Permit and pay related fees.

4. International students must register at the local police station within 24 hours of their entry to China. The students must extend their visa at the Entry and Exit Administration Bureau before the visa expiration date.

5. The university is not responsible for any letter of invitation to visitors. International students should refer to the relevant China tourism departments for information regarding visits by relatives.

6. International students who have graduated or have been dismissed from the university must leave China within the designated time. For the students who have been dismissed from the university, the Entry & Exit Administration Bureau will cancel and take back their Residence Permit and/or shorten their visa..

Scholarship Opportunities

In order to drive enthusiasm and study initiative, encourage and support excellence in conduct and academy, create a good study atmosphere and drive diligent study, Liaoning Communication University hereby formulates this Outstanding/distinguished International Student’s Scholarship Procedures.

1. Conditions for Application

I. Applicants shall be normal self-sponsored international students; registered for an undergraduate or postgraduate program for one (1) year or above and haven’t applied for temporary leave or extension of study;

II. Applicants shall observe and abide by every law of China, school rules and regulations, and not have any record of violation;

III. Applicants shall respect the authority, love the school, respect other foreign students, be friendly and positively participate in school organized activities;

IV. Applicants shall possess honest code of honour, be excellent in quality and have comprehensively good behaviour synthesis evaluation;

V. Applicants shall be upright in study, diligent and have an outstanding academic record for the previous semester.

(a）First Prize Scholarship applicants shall have a minimum average of 85% with scores from each course not less than 80 marks;

(b) Second Prize Scholarship applicants shall have a minimum average of 80% with scores from each course not less than 75 marks;

(c) Third Prize Scholarship applicants shall have a minimum of 70 marks in every course.

(d) Single Item Scholarship applicants shall have a minimum of 65 marks in all courses.

2. Award Establishment

The University sets apart 5% of the total international students’ fee every year for the Outstanding International Students’ Scholarship.

(a) First Prize, RMB300 per month, awarded to 5% of the total number of students;

(b) Second Prize, RMB200 per month, awarded to 10% of the total number of students;

(c) Third Prize, RMB150 per month, awarded to 40% of the total number of students.

Single Item Scholarship ：

(i) Outstanding Class Cadre Prize

(ii) Progressive Study Prize

(iii) Technological Activity Prize

(iv) Outstanding Social Activity Prize

(v) Full Attendance Award

The comprehensive scholarship prize and the single item scholarship may be awarded concurrently.

3. Evaluation procedures

The university establishes an International Students’ Scholarship Appraisal Committee. The committee is to be composed of the related school leaderships and the secondary units in charge; the international student office is responsible for the concrete details.

At the beginning of each semester, international students who meet the conditions for the scholarship should submit written application to the international students’ office

Based on the international student’s application, academic record and daily behavior performance (academic record 75%, daily behavior performance 25%), initial comments shall be made by the international students’ office organization, initial comments shall include class and grade evaluation, teacher evaluation and other procedures.

The international students’ office will compose the names of the applicants meeting the necessary condition, then report to the international students’ scholarship appraisal committee for consideration in the scheduled time then finally determine the scholarship students’ name list.

The Scholarship evaluation result shall be published on the international students’ office website.

4. Scholarship distribution procedures

The scholarship adopts a monthly distribution method; the international students’ office shall go through the distribution procedure before the 15th of every month.

The international students’ office of LNCU has the right to interpret the stipulated rights herein.
